Understanding Erectile Dysfunction

Solving Erectile DysfunctionErectile dysfunction is a very broad topic and can be sometimes very difficult to explain in details because it covers a broad range of disorders. The common understanding of ED by everyone is simply the inability of a man to achieve or maintain an erection long enough to satisfy the sexual needs of him or his partner. This is a common problem which most men may experience at some point of their lives and are more commonly seen in men by the age of 40 and above. The ED problems found in these men are also not due to psychological problems such as stress and are considered as disorders. Other than finding ways to increase penile size, ED is now another common and popular topic among men around the world.

The problem can vary from men to men. Some of them may experience complete erectile dysfunction while others only suffer partial or brief erections. As survey shows, erectile dysfunction can cause emotional and even relationship problems. Men suffering from ED may eventually suffer from low self-esteem as well. Fortunately, most Erectile dysfunction are treatable and the treatment may varies between different people since ED can have many root causes.

From a survey result revealed by the National Institutes of Health in 2002, it was estimated that 15 to 30 million men in the United States experience chronic erectile dysfunction. Another report from the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, shows that approximately 22 out of every 1000 men in the United States have sought medical help for Erectile dysfunction in 1999 alone. These are evidences that ED is actually a common problem faced by men nowadays.

The probability of experiencing the disorder also increases with age. Chronic ED affects about 5% of men in their 40s. By the age of 65, this figure increases to 15-25% of men. Sometimes, other diseases are the indirect root causes for ED. Examples are alcoholism, diabetes or kidney disease, which account for as many as 70% of chronic erectile dysfunction cases. About 35 to 50 percent of men with diabetes also experience ED as well. Other than that, psychological factors can be the root causes as well. For example, men suffering from stress, anxiety or depression may have Erectile dysfunction as well. This may account for approximately about 10 to 20 percent of the cases.

The topic about erectile dysfunction also often leads to another commonly discussed problem known as Premature ejaculation. The latter is simply is a condition whereby the man ejaculate too quickly and leaving the partner unsatisfied. The entire process of arousal, erection, ejaculation and finally climax can occur very quickly, usually in just a few minutes or even seconds. Men suffering from Premature ejaculation may also have erection problems as well. However, such impotence are generally treated differently.

This article has focused primarily on male Erectile dysfunction problems, but one should not forget that the relationship with his partner should not be left unattended. A successful relationship is also often the key to have a satisfying sexual lifestyle. You should include your partner in any discussion for any potential treatments you are seeking out.

As far as everybody knows, sexual health is important to everyone. Nowadays, there are also many free but non-prescription ED medications available on the Internet or TV. You may be very tempted to try them out just to see if they can eventually solve your problems. But the fact is, it is a big “NO” to even think of it, let alone to use it on yourself. As you may still not be aware, there are just too many cases of non-prescription drugs scams and scammers around. Men from all over the world lose hundreds million of dollars a year, just to purchase devices, pills and what not, that totally do not work. These products are also not medically proven and can be a risk to health. The products usually have very fancy sale pages or advertisements, giving loads of empty promises.

Just a word of advice, do not reveal your credit card number to anyone if you simply have no intentions to make a purchase at all. Many of these merchants are dishonest and the purchase usually have hidden agendas. For example, after you have purchased the first bottle of pills, they will keep taking money from your card and will mail you other stuffs that you have never ordered at all.

But do not be discouraged by all these dishonest merchants. If you are really looking for some help, a good suggestion would be to try a therapy with your partner or even join support groups on the Internet.

I hope that the information I have shared with you can help you to save thousands of dollars and most importantly to cure your problem. Good luck and enjoy!
